While our industry has already experienced the formative decade of tungsten filament conventional- and effect-lighting, the pioneering generation of arc moving lights is now in full bloom. In addition to that, the next upcoming lighting era is seeking its own epoch – that of the „creative LED systems“.
“In contrast to the traditional LED video walls, whose main emphasis is upon large-scale images with high resolution content (HR/IMAG), creative LED systems will effectively reflect the more abstract metaphorical language of lighting and set designers. From a creative point of view, high resolution content with high pixel density can be neglected in favour of other system advantages. Low resolution offers enormous space for creativity. The advantages of low resolution systems give the designer creative scope – that is why we call it ‘Creative LED’”. |

This is how Barco, one of the leading manufacturers for both high and low resolution product families, name the elementary difference between high- and low-res product solutions. We believe this term to be very applicable so we can happily take on this definition.
„Creative LED systems“ based on video technology, are fully capable of producing their very own specific performances in the transition from video to lighting technology.
These systems range from light-weight, variable shapes which can have collapsible solutions for easy set-up, they can be transparent, or even bent, divided or used to outline. Consequently the designer can run content on nearly every surface: to light either the “black hole” on stage or to light the enormously large-scale surfaces surrounding the performance stage. |

“Creative LED-systems” can also be integrated harmoniously into the entire lighting control system as they use the same network and can be controlled via the same console. Media server and (media)content can be integrated just as easily as any other additional components. But we should not forget that the complexity of such network will be very demanding. Such integration will ask for a specific product synergy and a higher level of qualified technical competence.
Synergy and Competence – two important factors for success in dealing with „Creative LED“
Lightpower has taken on this challenge. Following one year of meticulous preparation, we are now in the position to push into second gear with this extraordinary step of our ambitious concept to open up an “LED Competence Centre Germany” right on time for the official announcement during the PL+S show. We shall offer sophisticated LED products and low-res LED systems from Barco, Element Labs, Schnick-Schnack-Systems and Ayrton – all under one roof. We borrowed the generic term “Creative LED” from Barco to give the variety of solutions one name. However, this name is getting ready to become the internationally accepted term for this kind of new revolutionary product genre.
Obviously this kind of concentration of forces can only achieve best results, when we, as the active sale force can add noticeable surplus values. Here to name only a few, the close cooperation with the professional end-user, the competence in all disciplines within our sales team, a synergy of product solutions such as controller, network components and media server are most relevant.
This goes along with respectively large systems for presentation purposes, qualified workshops and a first-class service and support. We have all of these qualifications and an extension building at our headquarters in Paderborn is in process, so that we can push at full speed by the middle of this year.
Yours sincerely,

Managing Director
